FAQ
Does this require any external API or signup?
No — it uses your browser's built-in Web Speech API. No server calls or keys are required.
Which browsers work?
Chrome on desktop & Android has best support. Other Chromium-based browsers may work. Safari support is limited. If not supported, a manual textarea fallback is provided.
Is my audio sent to a server?
Recognition may send audio to the browser vendor's speech servers (depends on browser). No third-party API from this page is used. For totally local offline recognition you need an OS-level offline speech engine or dedicated app.
